Differences between online virtual craps and online live craps

Although the craps rules are still the same, online craps (virtual) differ from live craps online where you play against a dealer. We will now tell you more about those differences. Online live craps is filmed from a studio or from a real, physical casino which you then stream on your computer, mobile, or tablet. You can find these games in your craps live casino section. Virtual craps is played against the computer, thanks to the RNG – Random Number Generator, a function that guarantees that the outcome of the game is random every time.

How to play online craps for real money?

Now it's time for us to describe what a game round in craps can look like!

Time Needed: 10 Minutes Tools Needed: Laptop/Mobile Software Needed: Email
Step 1
Make a deposit in craps online casino
Make a deposit in craps online casino

Unfortunately, it is not possible to test play craps in live casinos for free, so the first thing you need to do is deposit money into your gaming account that you can play for. We have written a guide on various payment methods that are available today to choose from.

Step 2
Buy your chips
Buy your chips

In craps chips are used and before the round can start you need to buy them. Here you simply put forward the coins you are willing to play for and then the staff exchanges them for chips.

Step 3
Make your bets
Make your bets

Now that you have your chips, you can start betting. On the craps table, there are different fields for different bets and you simply place your chips where you want to bet. If you play at a land-based casino, you will notice that a craps table is quite large, and if you don't reach the field you want to bet on, you get help from the croupier or the one called "stickman". As for the maximum and minimum stakes possible, it differs from casino to casino.

Step 4
The shooter is selected
The shooter is selected

In craps there is something that looks like a puck and it is called just that - The Puck. When "Off" is facing up, it is time for a new round and a new shooter must be selected. And this person then becomes the one to throw the dice. When the first roll of a round takes place, it is called the Come Out Roll. The croupier then gives a total of five dice to the shooter, but only two must be used. The shooter simply gets to pick two out of the total five.

Step 5
Come Out Roll starts
Come Out Roll starts

Now the shooter must roll the dice and this first roll in a round is thus called the Come Out Roll. This roll determines in many ways what the rest of the round will look like. There are three different possibilities for the round: That it will be Natural, Craps, or Point.

  • Natural = If the roll is 7 or 11 it is called Natural. The round ends immediately and those who bet on Pass Line win while those who bet on Don't Pass lose.
  • Craps = If the roll instead is 2, 3, or 12, it is called "craps" or "crapping out". Those who bet on Pass Line lose their bets while those who bet on Don't pass win. But only if it's 2 or 3. If it's 12, it's a draw!
  • Point = If the first throw instead is 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, or 10, it becomes Point. A point has now been established. The puck will now be flipped from "Off" to "On" and then placed on the number that was rolled.

The number is now "Point" and the shooter continues to roll the dice until the same number appears again or until it becomes a 7. If you have bet on the Pass Line, you win if the number on the point is rolled before 7 and vice versa if you have bet on the Don't Pass Line. After this, the round ends, and then a new shooter gets to be the one to throw the dice.

Online Craps Rules

Learn the rules of craps and become a champion! Are you curious about the rules of craps and how to play this classic dice game? Then you’ve found the right place! In this guide we’ll go through all the craps rules you need to know so stay tuned!

Learn to master the rules of craps!

Craps is the classic casino game that involves rolling dice – a game that is loved around the world. But as with just about any other game, there are of course rules to be followed, and it is these that we will go through in this guide. Our hope is that afterward, you will feel wiser about the rules of craps and how to play to maximize your chances of winning!

However, before you read on, we would like to advise you about our basic guide in craps, which may be good to take a look at as well – preferably before you read on here. Then we have also written a separate guide on craps strategies, which you can read after this guide if you want. After that, we have also written a guide about different variants of craps that you are also welcome to read.

The more educated you are, the better conditions you will have at the gaming table! But, let’s get started with this guide about online craps rules now!

The goal of online craps

The goal in online craps is to bet money on what you think the outcome of two rolled dice will be. It sounds very simple and straightforward, doesn’t it? But it’s not really that simple. The fact is that in craps there are a lot of different betting options and it is because of them that many, at first glance, may think that craps do not look that simple at all – the game table can be quite confusing for a beginner.

But, let’s put it this way: The rules of craps are neither complicated nor very advanced – but on the other hand, it’s not something you just sit down and play. Get to grips with the crap’s rules and then choose a strategy that suits you! So that’s exactly why it’s great that you’re reading this guide! Because once you understand the rules of craps, you will notice that the game is both fun and not at all too difficult, actually.

Items used in the craps online

Casino games are of course different, in roulette, we have a roulette wheel and in craps, we have a number of other objects that are important to the game. We will now explain them a little more!

Craps table

What can be a bit intimidating for beginners is the craps table itself, which at first glance looks quite advanced. What we see on the table are the different bets that can be made. And it looks a little confusing, we agree! But you can rest easy as we will go through these as we go along in this guide. Good, right?

Typical craps table

Dices

In craps, two dice are rolled. But if you become a shooter, you get a full five dice from the croupier and then you simply select the two you want to roll with. All the dice look the same but this is a small custom in the game that remains to this day.

The puck

What is called “The Puck” is a kind of button where on one side it says “On” and on the other “Off”. This button shows whether a game round is in progress or not.

Stick

This is the stick that the so-called “stickman” uses to take care of and move the dice on the game table.

Shooter

The player who rolls the dice.

Boxman

The one from the casino’s staff who takes care of the various bets and chips.

Stickman

The casino staff who take care of the dice and announce the different results are called “Stickman”.

Possible combinations

When playing craps, two dice are used and these are always thrown at the same time. As you know, there are six sides on a die and this means that there are a total of 36 combinations (6 times 6) that can occur when the two dice are thrown.

The combinations are as follows:

Dice combinations and odds
The sum of the dice Combination Odds
2 1+1 35:1
3 1+2 | 2+1 17:1
4 1+3 | 3+1 | 2+2 11:1
5 3+2 | 2+3 | 1+4 | 4+1 8:1
6 1+5 | 5+1 | 3+3 | 2+4 | 4+2 6.2:1
7 3+4 | 4+3 | 2+5 | 5+2 | 1+6 | 6+1 5:1
8 4+4 | 5+3 | 3+5 | 2+6 | 6+2 6.2:1
9 4+5 | 5+4 | 3+6 | 6+3 8:1
10 4+6 | 6+4 | 5+5 11:1
11 5+6 | 6+5 17:1
12 6+6 35:1

From the table above, you can see that there are different chances of different numbers being thrown. For example, there is only 1 combination that yields 2 (1+1) while there are 6 combinations that yield 7. With this stated, the number 7 is the most common number to appear and on average this happens every sixth roll.

In the next paragraph, we will take a closer look at how the odds look in craps.

Online Craps odds and payouts

In the table below, we will now take a closer look at how the odds look in craps, how big/small the house advantage is, in other words. This is for the different combinations that can be obtained in craps:

Craps odds
Bet House edge
Don’t Pass Line/Don’t Come Bet 2x odds 0.83%
Pass Line/Come Bet 2x odds 0.85%
Don’t Pass/Don’t Come 1.40%
Pass Line/Come 1.41%
Place 6 & 8 1.52%
Lay 4 or 10 2.44%
Lay 5 or 9 3.23%

The house edge in online craps

In one of the tables above, we listed what the house advantage looks like, but we would like to explain this a little more. Regardless of which casino game you play, the house always has a certain edge. Otherwise, they would quickly go bankrupt.

This means that the house is already a bit on the plus side, you could say, and in this way the match is never completely equal. This house edge can never be completely eliminated, but with the help of various strategies or bets, it can be reduced.

The different bets in online craps

We will now tell you more about the different betting options available in craps, there are quite a few!

  • Pass Line
This bet together with “Don’t Pass” are the easiest one you can make. If you bet on “Pass Line” you want the first roll to be 7 or 11, if it is then you win as much as you bet. If it turns out to be 2, 3, or 12, you lose the entire bet. If there is another number, it becomes “Point” and then you want this number to come up again before it becomes 7.
  • Don’t Pass
Don’t Pass works in the same way as “Pass” but in reverse, but with the difference that if it gets 12, it will be a draw instead.
  • Come Bet
Come together with Don’t Come works in much the same way as Pass and Don’t Pass. But these can only be played on after the Come Out Roll has been made, and a “point” has been established. If you want to bet on Come, you put your chips in the field for this and if the roll is then 7 or 11, you win, but if it is 2, 3, or 12, you lose. Same as for Pass in other words if the dice show another number, this is what you want to come up again before it becomes 7.
  • Don’t Come
Don’t Come is the opposite of Come and now you want it to be 2 or 3. If it’s 12 it’s a tie.
  • Field Bets
What is called Field Bets in craps is one of the easiest bets that can be made in the game. And the advantage is that it can be done whenever, both before the come-out roll and before if you want. The numbers that apply to Field bets are 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, and 12. If any of the numbers are rolled you win but if 5, 6, 7, or 8 appear you lose! It may sound simple and as if the chance of winning on these numbers is high, but note that the probability of these coming up is 16:36 while the risk of 5, 6, 7, or 8 appearings instead is 20:36 – a slightly greater probability in other words.
  • Place Bets
This bet is also very simple, but note that it is not possible to bet Place bets before the come-out roll is rolled. To make a place bet, you bet on 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10. You win if this number comes before 7, but you lose if 7 comes up first. Place bets are divided into Place 6 & 8, Place 5 & 9, and Place 4 & 10. What separates them is the house edge and the payouts.
  • Hardware
The bet called “hardway” is a bet that the dice will show the same number. For example, two threes, two fours, and so on. In total there are four hard ways and it is a bet that there will be either two 2s, two 3s, two 4s or two 5s. To win on a bet like this, it is necessary that your numbers (the ones you bet on) come up before the dice show another combination with the same number. For example, if you bet on the hardway 6 (3+3), this must come up before the dice show 2 and 4, or yes, all sums that become 6 simply. Note that you lose if 7 appears but if any other number appears then nothing happens, your bet then stands until you either win or lose.
  • One Roll bet
One-roll bets or “Single roll bets” as they are also called are bets that are decided with a single throw of the dice. The payouts are high and can therefore be tempting but note that the house has a high edge on many of these. Below we list all Single Roll Bets / One Roll Bets:

    •  Any 7
Here you bet on it being a 7. The house edge on Any 7 is 16.70% and the payout is 4:1.
    • Any Craps
You bet that the shooter will roll 2, 3, or 12. The house edge on Any Craps is 11.11% and the payout is 7:1.
    • 2 or 12 Bets
You bet that a 2 or a 12 will be rolled. The house edge is 13.89% and the payout is 30:1.
    • 3 or 11 Bets
You bet that a 3 or 11 will be rolled. The house edge is 11.11% and the payout is 15:1.
    • Horn Bets
      The dice show 2, 3, 11, or 12.
    • Big 6, Big 8
This bet is won if a 6 or 8 is rolled before a 7. If you win, you double your money.
  • Odds Bets
When it comes to different bets or strategies in craps, what is called “taking odds” is the best thing you can do. When it comes to taking odds, it’s something you can do on Pass Line bets and Don’t Pass Line bets. What you are doing is simply placing more chips behind these lines. But then what is so good about taking odds? Well, the house advantage is significantly reduced when you do this on the Pass or Don’t Pass line. But remember: you can only take odds after a point has been established and it is also required that you have made Pass or Don’t pass line bets first. We have written a separate guide on Craps Strategies and there we tell you more about taking odds, please read it! (link when the article is posted in WP)
  • Buy Bets
What is called Buy Bets basically works in the same way as Place Bets – you bet on one or more numbers: 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10. That number must be rolled before 7. What separates Buy Bets and Place Bets is the payout, which in this case matches the odds, and many therefore think that this becomes a fairer game. But with that said, the casino has therefore put in a small special advantage for itself in Buy Bets. Namely, it costs 5% to play on this bet. Exactly how the 5% is paid may differ from casino to casino but this amount is paid on your stake, not on your winnings. At some online casinos, it must be paid directly, while other, slightly “kinder” casinos let you pay the fee only if you win. As with Place Bets, Buy Bets are divided into Buy 6 & 8, Buy 5 & 9, and Buy 4 & 10. And what separates them is the payouts. But note that they are therefore completely consistent with the odds, so payout and odds are equal in Buy Bets.

Online Craps Variants

All about different types of craps. If you are going to play craps online, you will notice that there are a number of different variations of the classic casino game. Join our guide and we’ll go through all of them!

The most popular craps variants

We thought we’d start by listing the most common variants of craps and tell you a little bit about them.

Crapless Craps

Among the different variants of craps, we find Crapless Craps, also called “bastard craps”, which can be described as a simplified version of craps. The downside, however, is that the house edge is greater in this variant, with 5.38%.

High Point Craps

In this version, it looks a little different in terms of “Come Out Roll”. If this roll lands on a 2 or 2 then the roll is called a “Push” and is ignored. The game then restarts again until another sum is shown. If the dice roll 11 or 12, that roll automatically wins. The house edge in this variant is approximately 2.35%.

Simplified Craps

Simplified Craps, or simplified craps in the UK, is, as the name suggests, a more straightforward version of the game. Here there is only one bet and the player wins if he rolls 2, 3, 4, 10, 11 or 12 and loses if it is 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9. The house edge is approximately 2.8% and the payouts are:

  • 2s pay 3:1
  • 3s and 4s pay 1:1
  • 10s or 11s pay 2:1
  • 12s pay 5:1

Die Rich Craps

This variant is different from many other variants because in Die Rich Craps there is only one die, which makes the game easier for potential beginners. In Die Rich Craps, the player wins if he rolls a 6 on the Come Out roll but loses if it is a number between 1-6, that number then becomes the Point. When a Point has been established, the player gets three rolls to try to hit the point number, without rolling one. If the player fails, the game starts over and then a new player becomes the shooter. The odds in Die Rich Craps vary depending on when the player wins. If the win comes from the come-out throw the payout is 1:1, when the player throws the point number on the second or fourth throw the odds are 2:1, and even money if the player throws the point on the third throw. In Die Rich Craps it is not possible to place any Come or Don’t Come bets!

New York Craps

This variant of craps got its name because it is popular in the city of New York. The main thing that distinguishes this variant from regular craps is the house advantage, but also the different table layout.

Diceless Craps

Among all the different craps games, we will now present a slightly odd variant of craps where you play completely without dice. A bit special considering that craps are just a dice game! The variant was born in the United States where gambling with dice was banned in some states. As the variant became more popular, “Diceless Craps” has also found a home in some live casinos. In Diceless Craps, a total of 44 decks are used, but only aces through the sixes. Apart from the big difference that cards are used instead of dice, the other rules are exactly the same.

Craps with both dice and cards

There are also different types of bets in craps where both cards and dice are used. And just like in “Diceless craps”, aces up to and including the sixes are used. The dice are thrown and the result shows which cards will be drawn. Blue die with a three turns over a blue card number three and so on. It is the result of the cards that count and the idea is to eliminate possible cheating with the dice. Two common variants of this form of craps are “Pauma” and “Harrah’s”.

Open Craps, Fading Craps or Money Craps

This variant is therefore called Open Craps, Fading Craps or Money Craps. In the UK, the game usually goes by the name “Pengacraps”. This variant is mainly played in private contexts and even here only one die is used. The name comes from the fact that it is usually large sums of money that are bet. The players bet against the “banker” (the person who takes the bets) who in turn takes a commission on all winnings. Usually, it concerns a commission of 5-7%.

Scarney Craps

This variant takes its name from gaming expert John Scarne who also developed this game. In Scarney craps, Come and Don’t Come bets do not exist, which makes the variant different from regular craps. The reason why Scarney Craps was developed was to increase the chances of winning for the casinos that did not have as many players as the big ones in Las Vegas.

Low Limit Craps

This variant is aimed at all craps games where it is possible to bet very low. Something that can be suitable if you are a beginner or have a smaller gaming budget.

High Limit Craps

Same as above, but in reverse! This variant is suitable for high rollers, players who simply want/can bet more.

Bubbles Craps Machines

Bubbles Craps Machines or Shoot to Win Craps as it is also called is a physical game machine that can be found at land-based casinos in, for example, Las Vegas. This can suit beginners who don’t quite dare sit down at a real craps table and/or who want to test the game in peace and quiet.

Which craps variant should you choose?

Now that we have gone through the most common and popular variants of craps, you may be wondering which one to choose? In the following paragraphs, we will go through which variants of craps may be suitable, depending on what you are looking for.

Craps variants with the best odds

Among the craps variants that pay the best, i.e. have the best odds, we find, among other things:

  • Regular craps or bank craps as it is also called. Sometimes the game is also called Las Vegas craps. The house advantage is low, at around 1.4%.
  • High Point Craps, 2.35%.
  • Simplified/Simplified Craps, 2.8%

Craps variants with the best payout

As for the payouts in craps, they can differ from casino to casino. We recommend instead focusing on the craps games with a low house edge and that you choose strategies that lower it further.

Please read our guide on house advantage and the one on craps strategies. In the latter, you will learn, among other things, that the best thing you can do is to bet on Pass Line/Don’t Pass and “take odds” on these.

Craps variants you should avoid

As a beginner, we do not recommend that you take on the more difficult variants at first, but otherwise there are no variants that one should avoid. Rather, it’s all about finding a variant that suits you and your gaming budget!

After that, however, there are a number of known mistakes that you should avoid, something you can easily do by knowing them.

  • Not checking whether the casino has a UK license.
You should always check this first before you start playing! Playing at a casino with a UKGC license automatically means that you play much safer.
  • Not reading the rules first.
The rules for different games may differ from casino to casino. So always check what applies to the specific game at the specific casino.
  • Not having read up on how crap works.
As a beginner, you sometimes make the mistake of being a little naive. How hard is it to roll dice?! But reading up on rules as well as odds and strategies increases your chances at the gaming table!
  • Trying to play when you are tired or drunk.
There are many advantages to the fact that today it is possible to play when and where you want, thanks to live casinos in our smartphones. But don’t try craps for the first time when you’re tired or drunk!
  • Taking on too difficult a strategy or game variant.
Being a beginner is really okay, we all are at some point! If you are completely new to craps, choose both a variant and a strategy that is not too complicated.
  • To play to win.
Play for fun and see potential winnings as a plus! Never gamble to win money back or pay off a debt. It may result in you losing more instead.
  • Not having a gaming budget.
Regardless of which casino game you intend to play, whether it’s craps or slots, you must make sure you have a gambling budget and follow it.

Online Craps Strategies

The best strategies to succeed in craps. Are you eager to become a fin at the classic dice game craps? Then you’ve come to the right place! In this guide, we’ll go over crap strategies that work and will help you at the table!

What will you learn from our craps strategies guide?

We hope that with the help of this guide, you will feel a little wiser about different strategies in the game of craps. We also hope that you feel that our tips will be of good use and that they will help you once you sit down at the gaming table. In this guide, we will simply offer tips as well as go through the most common and best strategies to succeed in craps.

Afterward, we hope that you can “settle down” (we say so, even though you may very likely be playing in a live casino from the comfort of your own home) and feel that you have more meat on your legs and better confidence than you currently have! Surely that sounds good?

Important tips before you get started:

  1. Read up on craps.
Learn the rules of the game, and how odds and bets work. We have written a separate guide about this which we recommend you also read, preferably before this guide!
  2. Choose a craps game that suits you.
Compare different variants to find a game that appeals to you.
  3. Make a gaming budget.
Regardless of which game you plan to play online, you should always make sure you have a gaming budget. In this way, you always have an eye on how much you can afford to lose, and by always following it, you avoid paying more than you intended!
  4. Think about how much time you can invest in the game.
Playing casinos online should be fun, but the time you spend should not affect the rest of your life in a negative way. Think about how much time you are willing to spend. And always see it as a warning bell if relatives start to question the time you put into gambling. Maybe you actually play too much?

Basic Craps Strategy

The most common and most basic bet in craps is the one called “Pass Line”, which we will tell you more about in the next paragraph.

“Don’t Pass Line” is also a common bet that works inversely to Pass Line.

These basic craps strategies for beginners both involve you betting on whether the shooter (read more about different concepts in craps in our basics guide) will win by getting “Natural” or “Point”. Or: If the shooter will “Crap Out” – lose in other words!

Natural, Craps or Points
The shooter throws The result
7 or 11 Natural – Shooter wins and “pass bets” are paid out
2, 3 or 12 Craps – The shooter loses and “don’t pass” bets are paid out
4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10 Point – The number is the target number throughout the game and pass bets are paid out

The Pass Line Strategy

This strategy or bet is made before the first roll of the game round. And when it comes to the Pass Line, you want the first roll to be either a 7 or an 11. If that’s the case, you win as much as you bet.

But, should it be 2, 3 or 12, you lose the bet. And if it is another number, that number becomes what is called a “Point”. Then you want this number to be rolled again before it becomes 7!

The Don’t Pass Line Strategy

If you have bets on the “Don’t Pass Line” instead, it works the opposite way to the Pass Line. The only thing that separates them is that if it is 12, it will be a draw instead.

When it comes to both Pass Line and Don’t Pass Line, the house edge is around 1.4% – something that is considered beneficial for the player as it is relatively low when compared to other casino games.

The Come/Don’t Come strategy

These two strategies or bets work in the same way as Pass Line and Don’t Pass Line but with a difference: They can only be played after the Come Out Roll has been made and a score has been established.

These two bets are also exclusive to the player who makes this bet.

The Money Management Strategy

This strategy is simply about keeping track of your bankroll. Something that we usually encourage our readers to do by saying: Make a gaming budget! In other words, “Money Management Strategy” means exactly this.

You should always make sure that your gambling budget is separated from your everyday finances. After all, the money you spend on gambling should not interfere with more important things in life, such as rent, bills, food, or family expenses.

If you are not careful, there is unfortunately the risk that you will end up in a boring situation, where you have wasted money you could not really afford to lose. And you don’t want to end up in that position! An important thing to know and keep in mind while playing is: the house always has an edge.

This means that regardless of which casino game you play, the casino is already in the plus by a certain number of percent. Exactly how big the advantage varies from game to game but also from bet to bet. You can never get rid of this advantage completely, but with different strategies, it is possible to reduce the house advantage, which is of course very good!

We have written a separate guide on house advantage that you are welcome to read if you want to become a little wiser about this, something we recommend that you make sure to become. The more educated you are, the better conditions you will have at the gaming table.

Craps is a casino game where there are an awful lot of different betting options and here it is because you have made a plan for how you want to spend your money in the game. Below are a couple of tips on how to take control of your bankroll when playing craps. But of course, the tips work for other casino games too!

  • Do not buy chips in excessive quantities
If you intend to play for a couple of hours, you should not buy them all at once. Decide first and foremost how much you want/can spend, and then buy chips a little from time to time. This way you don’t run out of all your craps money at once!
  • Set a loss limit
Before you start playing, you should be clear about the maximum amount you can lose. Stop playing when you reach this limit.
  • Have rules for when to leave the game table
Before you start playing, you should set rules for yourself regarding when to leave the table. You should definitely leave when your loss limit is reached, but you should also leave the table if it’s not fun anymore. Likewise, if you start to feel tired. If you are, it is more difficult to keep up and the risk of losses increases.
  • Take breaks
You should occasionally make sure to stretch yourself a little, well, simply take a break. Then you also get a little “distance” from the game and can perhaps more easily sense if it is possibly time to stop for the day. Taking breaks also makes it easier to evaluate your gambling budget. Your limit may be approaching.
  • Never play to win money back
Play for fun! If you play with the goal and ambition to win, you, unfortunately, start at the wrong end. Play for fun and see potential winnings as a plus!

Odds Strategy

“Taking odds” in craps means that you increase your bet on the Pass Line or Don’t Pass Line and Come or Don’t Come by simply placing more chips behind these lines. Taking odds on these is basically the best thing you can do as it reduces the house edge very significantly.

However, you usually don’t find the odds bet on the craps table and now you might be wondering why? Well, because these bets are simply so beneficial to the player that the casinos don’t want to encourage them. This is one of the best strategies for craps!

In the table below you can see how the house edge decreases when you place an odds bet on either Pass, Don’t Pass, Come, or Don’t Come:

Bets and house edge in online craps
Bet House Edge
Pass 1.41%
Don’t Pass 1.36%
Come 1.41%
Don’t Come 1.36%
With 1x odds bet 0.85%
With 2x odds bet 0.61%
With 3x odds bet 0.47%
With 5x odds bet 0.33%
With 10x odds bet 0.18%

6/8 The strategy

In craps, there is also something called “Place bets” and “Place 6 & 8” are such. It’s all very straightforward, you simply bet on 6 or 8 coming up before 7. If the number you bet on does, you win but if 7 comes up first, you lose.

Betting on exactly 6 or 8 (it is also possible to bet on 4, 5, 9, or 10) is extra advantageous – the house edge is approximately 1.52% which is good.

Payouts on these bets are 7:6, which means that if, for example, you bet 60 kroner that there will be a 6 and this appears before the 7, you win 70 kroner while getting your stake back.

Advanced craps strategies

Once you’ve learned the basics of craps and feel like you’ve mastered the slightly easier strategies, you can, if you want, give the more advanced strategies a try. We will now take a closer look at some of these!

The 3-Point Molly Strategy

In this strategy, you bet on three numbers at the same time, which the name also gossips about. The idea with 3 Point Molly is that you minimize the risk of Pass Line bets, while at the same time withdrawing money on come bets! This may sound like a winning concept, but always remember that the house edge remains, no matter how you play.

If you want to use this strategy, you should start by making a Pass Line bet. When the score is determined, you take odds on your pass line bet, at the same time you make a come bet. You should also take odds on these, preferably, and when you win on a come bet, you make another come bet – and so you continue until the round is over.

The Iron Cross Strategy

It’s about finding the best strategy for you in craps, and if you like to win often, but less, then this is a suitable strategy for you! The system itself involves you betting on all numbers, except 7. So if it’s 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12, you win – which means you can only lose with 7: an. You start by betting chips on “Field” (numbers 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 12). And here it can be smart to choose a casino that pays extra well for this bet, preferably 3 times the bet.

In the same round, you finally make bets on place bets (numbers 5, 6 and 8) and in this way you have bet on all numbers except 7. A bit of curiosity: On average, there are 7 every six throws. Namely, there are 6 combinations that can give 7, out of a total of 36 combinations. The Iron Cross strategy wins on average 5 out of 6 times. The disadvantage is, of course, that you don’t win that much in relation to your bet and if you lose, you lose quite a lot.

The house edge with this strategy is 2.37%.

Beginner mistakes that can be avoided in craps

As with just about any other game, it is unfortunately very easy to make mistakes when you are completely new to the specific game or as a new casino player in general. Below we thought we’d go through a couple of common mistakes that beginners often make in craps, which can be avoided by knowing them.

  • Ignoring Pass Line, Come, Don’t Pass and Don’t Come.
These are the best bets in craps, regardless of what anyone else says. The house advantage is a low 1.4%. Not understanding the advantage of odds bets. A common mistake is to bet more on pass and less on odds, for example, 50 on pass and take 1x odds on it. Take more odds! Run 15 on pass and 75 on odds instead, for example. Passes have a house edge while odds bets basically do not. So, the less money on a passport the less losses.
  • Not reading the rules.
Too many people think that it can be fun to try something new – and that in itself is not wrong. But, don’t try craps before you read up on the rules! You gain so much more by being knowledgeable about the game you intended to play and lose all the more by not being.
  • Embrace difficult strategies.
Who wants to be a beginner when you can play like a pro? Realize and accept that you are a beginner and that you have a lot to learn. So don’t play with the advanced strategies, to begin with, but make sure you master the basics first.
  • To play when you are tired, or drunk.

The best strategy is the one where you can reduce the house edge as much as possible. You do this by playing on the pass line or don't pass line and then taking odds on these.

By playing with strategies that involve as little house edge as possible and using them correctly, the answer is Yes, they work. But in the long run, the house (online casino) always has its advantage and this can never be completely eliminated, something that is important to be aware of.

At its core, online craps is a game of chance because it is, after all, about rolling the dice. But as with many other online casino games, you can influence how big or small the house edge is by playing smart and betting where the house edge is lowest.

When you play on the pass line or don't pass line, the online casino has an advantage of only 1.4%. If you then "take odds" on these, the house has an even lower advantage, on odds bets the house actually has hardly any advantage at all!

Because the house advantage is so low then!

You get the very best odds if you "take odds" on the don't pass line.

If you bet on the don't pass line, the house edge is about 1.4% in online craps, which is classified as a low advantage when compared to many other online casino games.

No. However, there are countless videos and tips on how to place dice before a roll, how to grip them and so on. But all rolls are nevertheless – completely random and you should always remember that regardless of what anyone else says.

No, you absolutely don't have to. But the game can be all the more fun if you know what options you actually have. As a beginner, it is enough if you know the "Pass Line" and "Don't Pass Line" and the fact is that you can have fun for a long time with these alone!

A "point" in craps online is the number that is thrown during the first throw (come out roll) but which is not 2, 3, 7, 11 or 12. If any of these numbers appear then win or lose all pass line or don't pass line at once.

This means that you make an extra bet on the pass line or don't pass line after a "point" has been established. As a rule, always take odds on the pass line or don't pass line because the house has no advantage on odds bets.

No, actually the rules of craps are not very difficult, but it can seem like a complicated game at first glance at the game table. But, through this guide, we hope that you will no longer think that playing craps seems too difficult, but really fun, because it is!

Craps involves you betting on the outcome of a roll of two dice. Surely it sounds easy? Yes, the rules of craps are not very complicated, but there are tons of different betting options to play craps and that's exactly what makes the game exciting!

The best thing you can do is bet on Pass Line or Don't Pass Line and take odds on these! We explain this with "take odds" here in the guide.

Of course, it depends on how you look at it! Basically, craps is not an advanced casino game, after all it involves throwing two dice, which in itself is not that difficult. However, there are a number of different betting options and what can be difficult for beginners is knowing what and how to bet.
